I'm an architect, so I've felt the tedious side of Revit first-hand. I built the AI Connector to hand that work to AI the reliable way: small, tested tools, not code that breaks.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is Revit MCP?

Revit MCP is a connection between Autodesk Revit and AI assistants based on the Model Context Protocol. The AI uses more than 50 tested Revit tools to read, edit and document your model in plain language, instead of writing code that can break. It is delivered through Nonica's AI Connector for Revit, included in NonicaTab.

What is the Model Context Protocol (MCP)?

MCP is an open standard that lets AI assistants connect to external tools and data in a consistent way. The AI Connector exposes Revit to any MCP compatible client, so the same setup works across Claude, GitHub Copilot and Cursor.

Is Revit MCP free?

Yes. The free version of the AI Connector includes the tools to read and analyze your model. The Pro version adds editing and documenting tools. Both are available through NonicaTab on the Autodesk App Store.

Which AI assistants does it work with?

Claude Desktop, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot in VS Code, Cursor and any other MCP compatible client.

Which Revit versions are supported?

Autodesk Revit 2022 through 2027. It works with linked models too, using the get_document_switched tool.

Does the AI write or run code in my model?

No. The AI does not generate code. It calls small, predefined Revit tools and reacts to feedback from the model, which makes the results far more reliable.
